Event History (lectures, concerts, guided walks, festivals, etc.), 1993-2025

Description

The Rose Playhouse was built by Philip Henslowe in 1587, remodeled in 1592 and abandoned sometime before the end of his lease in 1605. In 1989, archaeologists discovered the ruin and the foundations were saved from destruction during the building of a new office block, Rose Court. The site was listed as a scheduled monument in 1992. The Rose Theatre Trust (RTT) made it possible to open the site to the public in 1999.
This collection holds information for the public events at the Rose site, elsewhere in London and environs, or online after 2020, from 1999 to the present. These include lectures, tours, concerts, Open House London, etc. Publicity, etc for the performances of plays at the Rose after 2000 will be in the performance collection, release tba.
